We are pleased to announce that we have some secure funding to support under 8 Young Carers. This is fantastic news as we have identified numerous under 8's who are Young Carers already and there are many more that are in need of support. Our Support Worker, Mah, has been working with primary schools to get the service known so that teachers are able to identify those Young Carers in need.Young Carers Under 8’s Project supports Young Carers aged 5 to 8 years old who help care for a brother, sister, mum, dad, grandparent or other relatives, who have Autism/Learning Difficulties, Physical Disability, Mental Health, Long Term illness or Drug and alcohol misuse.Being a Young Carer can mean that the young person does not always get time to do fun stuff (e.g.fun trips, cinema, swimming sessions etc) We’re here to help improve your children’s educational, emotional, social and physical development.
